Project Details
Over 100,000 spectators took to the streets of Dublin to witness Bavaria City Racing, an adrenaline-fuelled afternoon with Superbikes, Super cars, Touring cars, Formula 2, WRC, Drifters, and the star attraction; demonstrations from internationally celebrated F1 cars and drivers, including McLaren’s Jenson Button. vStream were tasked to develop a platform to activate Bavaria’s Sponsorship of this unique event.


The Execution
Initially, vStream developed an on-trade execution, with an innovative iPad quiz application which focussed on the key target market to test their knowledge of motorsport. Spot prizes were awarded at events in various nationwide bars. Such was the success of the campaign, that the application was extended to iPhone and Android, and launched to the general public in the weeks coming up to the event. The application was a fully content managed platform (the first of it’s kind), with F1 and motorsport syndicated news, games, quizes, and detailed event based information, including real time parking and geo-location information.
The Results
The campaign was a massive success for Bavaria, with unprecedented downloads resulting in a number 1 position in the App Store Charts. The app won ‘Best Sports App’ at the Appy awards, and increased Bavaria City Racing’s social media presence by 300%.
